The mirror

I want to talk about Tarkovsky’s film «The Mirror», which I have watched because Nelly suggested it. I must say that at first I was attached to the sounds in the film, especially when I was watching the film with big headphones, the effect was indescribable.

Tarkovsky did not like this film and after watching it for the first time he said that he hated it and that he imagined another way. The film generally included the weight of life, problems, time, birth and death. In the beginning of the film we see Ignat- a boy with speaking problems who after several tries clearly said that he could speak. We never saw the main character of the film, it was Alexey, Ignatius’s father. And we didn’t see the main character, because this was not only Tarkovsky’s biography, but each of us, me and you… and this film was an opportunity to look back on our lives and have the same feelings.

I would also like to talk about one of the important parts, the first shot, where the mother was sitting on the fence, a man approached, who also sat on the fence and it broke, and as I noticed, there were many parts in the film (in the war, Ignatius fell …) And that meant there were a lot of setbacks in life and you had to get up. I liken him to the main character just in time, and I saw different meanings in the mirror in different shots, it was one nature, one time, one man … There is also a part that I like very much, I want to mention that, there was a part when a woman disappeared. Then the steam of the glass stays on the table and slowly disappears, it is as if we were our relatives, as if we were …

People were breathing art in this film and it was very beautifully expressed. The overall film was very beautiful and neat, I would recommend all those who did not watch it.
